This past year has been one of the most beautiful and transformative seasons of my life. I married the love of my life, Joey, and together we’ve celebrated not only our beauitful wedding but also the first full year of building my dream business, Suds & Sparkle. It’s amazing to look back and realize how far both love and passion can take you when they grow side by side.
When I first started Suds & Sparkle, it began as a way to escape corporate insanity, as I had just left a super toxic workplace and position. I was scared as I navigated the job hunting world, sending applications into what seemed like a void of nothingness. Weeks of not hearing back, or just flat out getting rejected, continuously pounded on my heart. I needed something creative, personal, and therapeutic to fill my days. I wanted to share something meaningful with others, to bring joy and comfort to others while going through a crazy and taxing time in my life. What I didn’t realize then was how much this soon-to-be journey would teach me... resilience, creativity, and gratitude — and how deeply Joey would become a part of every step along the way.
From helping me set up at markets in the summer heat, to listening patiently as I debated scent combinations late into the night, Joey has been there through it all. He’s celebrated my successes, encouraged me through the learning curves, and reminded me that every small step forward matters. His belief in me — even on the messy, exhausting, doubt-filled days — has been one of the biggest reasons Suds & Sparkle has grown into what it is today.
Running a small business is a rollercoaster of emotions. There are incredible highs when you see customers fall in love with something you made by hand, and there are challenging moments that test your patience and perseverance. But through it all, having someone by your side who cheers you on, carries crates and popup tents with you, and reminds you to breathe makes all the difference. Joey has been that anchor, that constant source of calm, laughter, and love that keeps me grounded.
As I look back on this year, my heart is so full. I’m endlessly grateful — for my husband, for the love and partnership we’ve built, for every person who’s supported Suds & Sparkle, and for this incredible community that believes in handmade dreams.
Here’s to another year of love, laughter, and lather — and to all the bright, beautiful things still ahead.
